About Avion
Avion focuses on Full Flight Simulator design, manufacturing, and operation. The company operates a Flight Training Centre at London Luton Airport, offering dry lease hours on their Avion A320neo Full Flight Simulator (FFS). A new FFS for the Boeing 737 MAX is currently being developed.

In early 2023, Avion entered into an agreement with an Indian Flight Training Company to supply eight Airbus A320 Full Flight Simulators. The new centre is scheduled to open in July 2023, with two Avion A320 simulators being shipped to India and certified by the Indian civil aviation authority, DGCA. The remaining six simulators will be built and delivered in about eighteen months.

Avion is also ramping up its R&D activities by developing a Full Flight Simulator for the Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, developing new functions like lesson plans, debrief tool and software updates for the Airbus A320 simulator. To support the enhanced R&D program, Avion will expand its team in the coming months.

There are two major movements in aviation and pilot training at the moment. The industry wants to become more sustainable, and it’s shifting from a hub-and-spoke to a point-to-point flight operations model. Sustainability and agility have always been at the core of Avion’s identity. Besides staying up to date with the OEM’s data packages, Avion’s R&D programme concentrates on
continuously improving the device’s ability to be ahead of these movements. That’s why Avion has been the manufacturer of the world’s most sustainable Full Flight Simulator since day one.

Our Projects & Technology business is responsible for delivering new development projects and the research and development that leads to innovative and low-cost investments for the future. Our operations are divided into four businesses: Upstream, Integrated Gas and New Energies, Downstream, and Projects & Technology.

In Upstream we focus on exploration for new liquids and natural gas reserves and on developing major new projects where our technology and know-how add value for resource holders.

In Integrated Gas and New Energies, we focus on liquefying natural gas (LNG) and converting gas to liquids (GTL) so that it can be safely stored and shipped to markets around the world. The New Energies business has been established to explore and invest in new low-carbon opportunities.

In Downstream, we focus on turning crude oil into a range of refined products, which are moved and marketed around the world for domestic, industrial and transport use.

Our Projects & Technology business is responsible for delivering new development projects and the research and development that leads to innovative and low-cost investments for the future.

Who We Are & Our Purpose
We use advanced technologies and take an innovative approach to help build a sustainable energy future. We also invest in power, including from low-carbon sources such as wind and solar; and new fuels for transport, such as advanced biofuels and hydrogen.

Shell’s purpose is to power progress together with more and cleaner energy solutions. We believe that rising standards of living for a growing global population are likely to continue to drive demand for energy, including oil and gas, for years to come. At the same time, the need to tackle climate change means there is a global transition under way to a low-carbon energy system.

Our Strategy
“Powering Progress” sets out our strategy to accelerate the transition of our business to net-zero emissions, in step with society. It is designed to deliver value for our shareholders, for our customers and for wider society. Powering Progress serves four main goals: generating shareholder value, achieving net-zero emissions, powering lives and respecting nature.

All four goals are critical to our future. Together, they integrate sustainability with our business strategy.

We are transforming our company across our three business pillars of Growth, Transition and Upstream. Our Growth pillar includes our service stations, traditional and low-carbon fuels, integrated power, hydrogen, charging for electric vehicles, nature-based solutions, and carbon capture and storage. It focuses on working with our customers to accelerate the transition to net-zero emissions.

Our Transition pillar comprises our Integrated Gas, and our Chemicals and Products businesses, and produces sustainable cash flow. Our Upstream pillar delivers the cash and returns needed to fund our shareholder distributions and the transformation of our company, by providing vital supplies of oil and natural gas.

Powering Progress is underpinned by our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people, and our focus on safety. These include our commitment to doing business in an ethical and transparent way.

Shell is changing to be more focused, more resilient and more competitive – not just for the energy system of today, but for the energy system of the future.
