SEW-EURODRIVE is happy to participate in the Control Career Fair 2022! We are the Dutch subsidiary of the German SEW-EURODRIVE family business that has more than 19,000 colleagues worldwide in 52 countries. SEW-EURODRIVE is the world market leader and specialist in drive and control technology. We ensure that roller coasters, harbour cranes, bridges, conveyor belts in the food industry and at airports keep moving…

SEW-EURODRIVE has been growing steadily for years. 2021 was our best year ever. This constant growth continuously results in interesting vacancies, not only in the Netherlands, but worldwide.

The average time that colleagues work at SEW is more than 18 years. We know why: The open and informal culture, all kinds of opportunities to develop yourself, challenges, an eye for work-private life balance, attention to health…

Every year we can opt for a four- or five-day working week, without sacrificing salary. We choose the weekly day off ourselves. Some 45 colleagues now use the four-day working week.  Starting a little later or working longer to avoid being stuck in traffic or to exercise is also possible. SEW has flexible working hours.

And practice sports can be done close by, namely on the upper floors of the office in Rotterdam. We have our own gym for practicing boxing, krav maga and yoga. After working hours, our own – qualified – colleagues supervise the training courses.

Fugro is the world’s leading Geo-data specialist, collecting and analysing comprehensive information about the Earth and the structures built upon it. Through integrated data acquisition, analysis and advice, we unlock insights from Geo-data to help our clients design, build and operate their assets in a safe, sustainable and efficient manner.

Over the last decade, brilliant minds have been working to change the world as we know it through technology, and what was once seemingly impossible has rapidly become a reality with a near-vertical upward learning curve. And while many sectors are still taking small steps, one industry is seriously investing and implementing these technologies as the benefits become clear – renewables.

Our innovative solutions are delivered through our in-house robotic developments, coming in a number of shapes and sizes – from drones in the sky to remote operated vehicles (ROVs) deployed from uncrewed surface vessels (USVs). Critical infrastructure, like offshore wind farms, can now be monitored and maintained through remotely piloted robots with different levels of autonomy, carrying out beyond-line-of-site operations to save time, money, energy expenditure and, crucially, eliminate the risk of sending employees into extreme environments. The robots in the air, on the ground, and underwater are impressive pieces of tech in their own right, but these are backed up by a whole support system that makes up the complex machine and data control puzzle. All of this together will deliver a future of autonomous solutions that will lead the drive towards a safe and liveable world.

Heerema Engineering Solutions (HES) is an Energetic & Independent Engineering Company. We translate our deep theoretical understanding of hydrodynamics, structural, mechanical and project engineering into practical solutions for the offshore industry. We believe in a new way of working, in which automation and control systems play a key role, increase quality, reduce human error and keep cost low and most importantly: allows engineers, to engineer the tools for the future.

“At HES we are ambitious, do not accept the status-quo and strive to develop Smarter Ways of Working that cut waste and keep the offshore industry sustainable.”

Control engineering is becoming more & more important in the offshore industry. Large gains can be made with the use of active control systems in an offshore environment. However, it is not easy. Offshore conditions are unpredictable, rough and diverse. Designing controllers and control systems for these environments can be a challenge.

Over the last few years, HES has been participating in the development of a control system and mechanical design of a motion compensated gripper frame for the installation of offshore XXL monopiles. This device is able to track & compensate motions in multiple reference frames as well as simultaneously providing a force on a monopile to ensure that it is installed within very strict tolerances. All this is done from a floating and moving vessel. Does this sound really interesting to you and are you up to the challenge? Come visit us at our stand, presentation and workshop during the Control Career Fair!

Who We Are & Our Purpose

We use advanced technologies and take an innovative approach to help build a sustainable energy future. We also invest in power, including from low-carbon sources such as wind and solar; and new fuels for transport, such as advanced biofuels and hydrogen.

Shell’s purpose is to power progress together with more and cleaner energy solutions. We believe that rising standards of living for a growing global population are likely to continue to drive demand for energy, including oil and gas, for years to come. At the same time, the need to tackle climate change means there is a global transition under way to a low-carbon energy system.

Our strategy

“Powering Progress” sets out our strategy to accelerate the transition of our business to net-zero emissions, in step with society. It is designed to deliver value for our shareholders, for our customers and for wider society. Powering Progress serves four main goals: generating shareholder value, achieving net-zero emissions, powering lives and respecting nature.

All four goals are critical to our future. Together, they integrate sustainability with our business strategy.

We are transforming our company across our three business pillars of Growth, Transition and Upstream. Our Growth pillar includes our service stations, traditional and low-carbon fuels, integrated power, hydrogen, charging for electric vehicles, nature-based solutions, and carbon capture and storage. It focuses on working with our customers to accelerate the transition to net-zero emissions.

Our Transition pillar comprises our Integrated Gas, and our Chemicals and Products businesses, and produces sustainable cash flow. Our Upstream pillar delivers the cash and returns needed to fund our shareholder distributions and the transformation of our company, by providing vital supplies of oil and natural gas.

Powering Progress is underpinned by our core values of honesty, integrity and respect for people, and our focus on safety. These include our commitment to doing business in an ethical and transparent way.
